1 small can tomato paste
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or sauerkraut juice
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
1 tbsp pure maple syrup
Pinch of: cinnamon, cloves, all spice & cayenne pepper
1/3 cup water
1 tsp dried kelp flakes (optional but amazing!)
Mix all ingredients together in a small jar and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Lycopene is the phytonutrient in tomatoes that gives them their brilliant red color and is heavily researched in the world of antioxidant protection, especially in cancer prevention. Cooked tomatoes actually contain a higher amount of lycopene than raw! Tomatoes are also exceptionally high in Vitamin A, C & K.
